Great games

As part of our inquiry we are looking at the features and rules of board games. We will use these ideas to design and make our own game with an NZ native creature theme.

Safe Walking

We have been working with Constable Hocken today learning about safe walking. Every year 40 pedestrians are killed and over 1000 injured in New Zealand. Please ask your child what they have been learning and practice this at home. Our students could be 'experts' to teach a younger child.

Harold visits Twizel

One of our favourite guests has arrived in town this week for our life education sessions. We are learning all about the heart with the help of our favourite giraffe Harold and his helpers, Jo and Sue.

Colourful jelly science!

Awesome, bright, squishy,colourful, nasty nappy jelly.

 
   At Ava's house we made nasty nappy. An EXCITING chemical chaos Experiment. It was VERY slimy jelly. It was fun seeing what it was going to turn into. We had to wait for an hour. IF YOU DO EAT IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL SICK! The biggest one was green and the smallest one was red.

Year 4 Athletics

Our year 4 students took part in their first athletics sports day with the seniors today. They tried very hard. We all had a go at the long jump and high jump yesterday. Some people were a little quick for the camera or Mr A to take the picture!

Last weeks Mathletes. These students worked super hard to earn over1000 points. Keep up the good work Room 13.

If I was an animal ...

Students in Room 13 found a mysterious bottle on their way home. They took it home to recycle it. Later on they noticed it glowing and they opened the lid. A genie popped out who gave them a wish to be an animal of their choice for a day. They had to think carefully about their choice.
